During the hot summer months this family tends to go a little stir-crazy while taking refuge in air conditioned buildings.  Now that it is a cool 88 degrees in Texas, I decided to get us out of the house.  I chose a small town, rich in history, with plenty of entertainment for my kids, and only about an hour drive from our house.   Our itinerary is detailed below, but click on the Links below for specific information about our visit to each location.

Liberty Municipal Park (w/ Seasonal Splash Pad)

501 Richard E. Vinson, Liberty, TX

I try to find a local park for the kids to run around in during the day trip.  This park was in a beautiful, wooded area.  There were two playgrounds and a covered picnic area.  My kids loved both playgrounds.  One had mulch and the other (for younger kids) had a very squishy rubber flooring.  The Splash Park was closed because the season had ended.  We spent about an hour there after our tours and lunch, so the kids could run off some steam before our drive back.

On a Liberty, TX, daytrip the family can include fun & exercise at Liberty Municipal City Park
